My girlfriend and I often walk in the cemetery in town. Not long ago the groundskeepers did a sweep of the statues and tributes left by friends and family of people resting there. These are some of the things left and some now gone.
Here is the cartoon for Day 7 of the Halloween Countdown!
And a special Halloween treat! The amazing Walter Sickert and His Army of Broken Toys! I've seen them twice at the Portsmouth Music Hall and they are brilliant at orchestrating the silent films they show there for Halloween. Last year the Lon Chaney Phantom and this year a creepy Swedish silent Haxan!
Be sure to catch them live if you have a chance!
And a trailer for a classic scary film that's maybe not given the respect it deserves: The Legend of Hell House with Pamela Franklin and Roddy McDowell among others!
Here is the latest new Halloween Cartoon in the Countdown and another treat at the bottom!
So, what is it about clowns that is so scary? They used to be the happy, go to Birthday party entertainers not to mention stars of the Big Top! It used to be that zombies, werewolves, vampires and mummies were the standard bad guys. The news is now full of creepy clown sightings. Maybe next year, instead of "Zombie Walks" they'll start doing "Creepy Clown Parades". It's an idea whose time has come!
Moving on from creepy clowns to just classically creepy, the incredible Billy Butler, the Seacoast's own Lin-Manuel Miranda and a group called the Madmen of Oopsy Daisy (and how great is that name!!) have a review of Billy's music Bitter Pill at the Player's Ring in Portsmouth, NH, that is a must see for anyone who loves great music, brilliant actors, musicians and singers and brings them all together with puppets (great and memorable characters in their own right!) and spectacle and an atmosphere that is also a one of a kind theatre going experience. It's on through Oct. 30, so if you live in the area don't miss it!
Can it be? This blog is coming alive again after an extended period of dormancy ( or as we like to refer to it gardening, which consists of: planting, weeding, growing, watering, weeding, watering and then harvesting our HUUUGE garden!).
So, that being said ... I will post a brand new Halloween related cartoon every day from now until Halloween, and, if I get a chance, will include a new mini-graphic novel! Here is # 1!
And, because I don't have a lot of time this cartoon was also posted on the brand new Six Chix website! More on that later! Plus lots of other things!
